Deputies make arrests for felony theft and DWI

CHARGE: Grand Larceny 3rd, Welfare Fraud 3rd, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st
On November 28, 2023 at 11:09 am, Jessica Burnett was taken into custody on an arrest warrant at the Yates County Public Safety Building for the above charges that were alleged to have occurred between November 2022 and April 2023. Jessica Burnett will await CAP Court arraignment.

Leonardo Gonzalez-Chavez 25, Penn Yan, NY
CHARGE: Driving While Intoxicated (Felony), AUO 1st (Felony), Failure to Maintain Lane
On the above date and time, Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to State Route 14a in the Town of Barrington for the report of a one car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies observed the vehicle in the ditch on the North shoulder of the roadway. The driver was identified as Leonardo Gonzalez-Chavez. Mr. Chavez was performed a series of standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP Court arraignment.
