NYSP charge Ontario NY man and Victor NY man with possessing “child sex abuse material”

Daniel I. Young and John F. Brainard were released with a ticket for a future court date

A complaint dated in October 2022 resulted in the arrest of a Victor NY man in the town of Farmington. John F. Brainard, age 70, was charged with felony Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E felony on September 25, 2023.

That arrest came days after the FBI, the NYS Police, and an out of state agency worked together to make the following arrest:

On September 19, 2023, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Williamson, with the assistance of the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit and New York State Parole, arrested Daniel I. Young, age 36, of Ontario, NY, for Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony). 

This investigation stemmed from the FBI, Smoky Mountain Economic Crimes Task Force, which began gathering information relative to Young allegedly purchasing child sexual abuse material by means of peer-to-peer transactions. Subsequent to a routine search by New York State Parole, with the on-scene assistance of State Police Investigators, Young was found to be in possession of child sexual abuse material. 

Young was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Ontario Court on October 4, 2023
