In a heartwarming ceremony held at his residence and surrounded by his family, local Navy veteran Blaine Strauser was honored with the prestigious Elks Medal. The medallion, recognizing his dedicated service to our nation, was presented by Doug Gibbs, the Director of Veteran Services for Yates County.

Blaine Strauser received this esteemed award during the American Patriot Remembrance Ceremony organized by the New York State Elks Association West Central District. It was the Penn Yan Elks Lodge that proudly put forth his nomination.

Mr. Strauser’s military journey during World War II earned him not only the Elks Medal but also two additional distinguished accolades, the American Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal, underscoring his significant contributions during a pivotal period in history. His dedication and valor continue to be celebrated and cherished by his community and family.
