Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 24, 2024, Investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tyler C. Hollister, age 24 of Kens Boulevard, Painted Post New York.
It is alleged that from 03/01/2023 to 08/31/2023 Mr. Hollister offered a false instrument for filing to the Steuben County Department of Social Services and received benefits from the Steuben County Department of Social Services in the amount of $3,096.00 that he was not eligible to receive.
Mr. Hollister is charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a class E Felony, Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a class E Felony, Welfare Fraud in the Third Degree, a class D Felony and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Hollister was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office.
