WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today,Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) voted to pass H.R. 8070, the Servicemembers Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for FY25.

“I will always fight to strengthen our military and support the brave men and women who defend our nation,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This act delivers a significant 19.5% pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers, improves housing and healthcare, and strips funding for the Biden administration’s woke agenda being pushed on our military. It also ensures our military is ready to counter threats from China, Russia, and Iran — keeping America safe and strong.”

The FY25 NDAA will:

  • Provide junior enlisted servicemembers with a 19.5% pay raise.
  • Fully fund the deployment of the National Guard at the southwest border to intercept illegal aliens and drugs.
  • Prevent Chinese espionage in our military, supply chains, and research institutions.
  • Expand U.S.-Israel military exercises and fully fund cooperative missile defense programs.
  • Increase funding for U.S. defense initiatives in the Indo-Pacific to bolster Taiwan’s defense and support Indo-Pacific allies.
  • Save $30 billion by cutting inefficient programs, obsolete weapons, and bloated Pentagon bureaucracy.
  • Cut $4.3 billion in programs that do not meet requirements.
  • Require promotions to be based on merit.
  • End affirmative action at service academies.
  • Abolish the DEI bureaucracy.
