WELLSVILLE, NY (September 3, 2024) – For over 30 years, the RidgeWalk & Run has brought hundreds of people to Wellsville for this premier fitness event & wellness fundraiser.  Each October, up to 1000 outdoor enthusiasts from all over Western New York, Northern Pennsylvania, and around the country participate in the annual RidgeWalk & Run in Wellsville, New York. This year, the event takes place on Sunday, October 20th at 8am.

By registering for the RidgeWalk, walkers and runners of all ages and fitness levels have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage on the hills and trails in Alma, New York. Some of the trails are on private property and only open to the public during the one day event.

As always, trail options include 5K, 10k, and 25K competitive trail runs as well as a two-mile country road walk and 2-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, and 25K trail walks. All events conclude on a gorgeous horse farm with festivities including music, food, and kids’ activities.

100% of the proceeds from the RidgeWalk & Run are used to support and provide a variety of initiatives that encourage community health and wellness in a number of ways. In addition to providing free wellness screenings at events throughout the community, RidgeWalk monies have been used to purchase blood pressure machines and hydration stations at both JMH and the Wellsville YMCA and blood drive incentives, as well as a safety project to connect both sides of the Riverwalk trail. In 2023, $10,000 in wellness dollars were donated to local banks over the holidays to support our communities.

“The true legacy of the Ridgewalk is what we are able to give back to our community. We are grateful to our volunteers, participants and sponsors for the success of this event for over 30 years,” said Jim Helms, CEO at Jones and co-chairman of the event.

Discounted registration is available through September 22. Early bird registrations also receive a limited edition tee, gloves, pom hat and gym sack. Supplies are limited. Find more information and to register, please visit www.ridgewalk.com. Stay current with the event by liking “RidgeWalk & Run” on Facebook and Instagram.
