September 12, 2024 – Police in Penn Yan are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that has shocked the local community. The tragic event occurred on Franklin Street, where officers discovered the bodies of Michael Personale and Ashley Manaco in their residence.
According to authorities, Personale sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Manaco is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This incident is particularly unsettling as it follows a similar situation just a year prior at a neighboring property.
Neighbor Stacey Nesbit expressed disbelief over the incident, highlighting the rarity of such events in the tight-knit community. In a separate case last year, 89-year-old Ronald Salyer was implicated in the death of his wife, Jane Salyer, in an unrelated incident.
