Marcein Nelson Perkins Steele, 90, born in Wellsville NY

Marcein Nelson Perkins STEELE, 90, formerly of Allegany, NY and Leesburg, FL, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Buffalo General Hospital.  Born September 17, 1934, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of R. Roy and Virginia Eleanor Dunshie Nelson. 

On July 19, 1953, in Whitesville, she married Richard L. Perkins, who predeceased her on May 24, 1974.  She then married Ralph L. Steele, who predeceased her in 1997. 

Marcein and Richard owned and operated a dairy farm in West Bingham.  She was employed by The Pines of Machias and as a bus driver by the Belmont School and the Bemus Point Central School District.  

Surviving are:  a daughter, Kristine Young of Belmont; two sons, Frederick Perkins of Salamanca and Roderick (Patti) Perkins of Franklinville; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Carol (Paul) Hanes of Webster, FL, Loel (Teri) Nelson of Bristol, CT, and Kathi Nelson of Gaston, NC; nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by friend and companion, Robert D. Morgan; two sisters, Marilyn Taylor and Janet Nelson; a son-in-law, Dennis Young; and a daughter-in-law, Alice Perkins.  A graveside service will be announced in May.  Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery, Allegany Twp., PA.
