Corning Museum of Glass Kicks Off 75th Anniversary with Community Celebration

Staff Report / February 20, 2026

Corning, NY – The Corning Museum of Glass is launching a year-long celebration of its 75th anniversary with a special event on Friday, February 20, 2026, inviting the public and members alike to mark the milestone with live music, glassmaking demonstrations, art, and community activities.

The anniversary kickoff, known as CMoG75, will take place museum-wide from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST, offering an evening of entertainment and experiences that reflect the institution’s decades of dedication to glass art, history, and scientific exploration.

The festivities begin with an exclusive hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for museum members and holders of Public+ tickets — which have since sold out — providing a chance to socialize with longtime supporters and the broader community while toasting the Museum’s milestone and meeting its new president, Dr. Jessica Levin Martinez. Member tickets for the kickoff celebration remain available until they sell out.

Following the members-only hour, the public celebration from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. will feature a range of activities appealing to all ages and interests. Highlights include:

  • Live glassmaking demonstrations by the Museum’s Hot Glass Team, bringing the process of molten glass to life.
  • Music from The Town Pants, returning to perform live.
  • A community-built balloon art sculpture and giveaways.
  • The 75 Favorites showcase — a display celebrating memorable moments and stories from the Museum’s history as contributed by its community.
  • Food and drink available for purchase, along with a special 20 % discount in The Shops during the event.

Tickets for the public celebration are priced at $5, with children and teens 17 and under admitted free; advance ticket purchase and early arrival are recommended.

The anniversary kickoff sets the stage for a year packed with exhibitions, special programming, and educational experiences throughout 2026, honoring seven and a half decades of creative achievement, community engagement, and contributions to the global glass world. Major highlights later in the year include exhibitions and events exploring the history of glass, the role of women in the American studio glass movement, and celebrations of the Museum’s world-renowned Studio.
