Penn Yan NY – Yates County Habitat for Humanity is searching for its next partner family as it prepares for a new home construction project in the community.
The organization announced it will host an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at Lyons National Bank. Officials say the session will outline the application process and explain what it means to partner with Habitat for Humanity on a home build.
Those interested in applying but unable to attend the meeting can still request information or begin the process by contacting the organization via email or visiting its website.
Habitat officials note that partner families are typically selected based on several factors, including residency in the area, demonstrated housing need, willingness to contribute “sweat equity” toward building the home, and the ability to manage an affordable mortgage.
The effort is part of the organization’s ongoing mission to expand access to safe and affordable housing in Yates County, with community participation playing a key role in each project.
