CORNING NY – Downtown Corning will once again serve as a hub of entertainment, shopping, and community activities this summer as the Gaffer District rolls out its seasonal lineup of events. Organizers say the annual Summer in Downtown Corning series is designed to attract residents and visitors to the city’s downtown business district while showcasing local merchants, restaurants, artists, and performers. Events are scheduled throughout the summer months and will offer activities for a wide range of ages and interests.
The summer schedule features a mix of recurring favorites and special events intended to highlight the community’s vibrant downtown atmosphere. Organizers say the events help support local businesses while creating opportunities for residents and visitors to gather and enjoy the city’s historic downtown. Many activities are free to attend and are expected to draw visitors from throughout the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions.
Among the events scheduled this summer are:
- Music on the Commons concert series
- Farmers Market in Riverfront Centennial Park
- Cruisin’ on Bridge Street classic car events
- GlassFest activities and attractions
- Harvest Festival celebrations
- Centerway Square performances and community events
