CANANDAIGUA – A credible threat reported at F.F. Thompson Hospital Thursday morning, at approximately 5:30 a.m., prompted a large-scale response from law enforcement and hospital officials, leading to temporary disruptions at the medical campus. According to authorities, the hospital received a threat that was considered credible enough to require immediate action. Law enforcement agencies established a perimeter around the facility while emergency services were temporarily diverted to other locations as a precaution. Investigators conducted a thorough search of the campus and surrounding areas while hospital officials worked to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
Authorities later determined there was no evidence to support the threat, and the hospital resumed normal operations by mid-morning. Officials said the threat was not directed at any specific individual and appeared to originate from outside the immediate area. Although no danger was ultimately found, hospital officials indicated that an increased law enforcement presence would remain at the facility for a period of time as the investigation continues.
