PENN YAN – The physical walls of the expanded Yates Community Center are rising rapidly, but organizers are now turning to local residents to build the facility’s social blueprint.
With a grand opening officially slated for early 2027, the organization has launched a comprehensive public survey to give community members of all ages a direct hand in shaping the center’s future schedule. As construction crews push forward on the physical footprint, the administrative team is shifting focus toward what will happen inside the new space. Rather than deploying a generic template, organizers are actively soliciting localized ideas to ensure the final catalog of fitness classes, sports leagues, cultural events, and youth activities directly mirrors the authentic desires of Finger Lakes families.
The digital questionnaire is designed to be highly efficient, requiring roughly five minutes for a resident to complete. To encourage widespread participation across the region, the center has attached a competitive raffle incentive for anyone who steps up to share their feedback.
