CORNING — Local organizations are joining forces this week to ensure area youth have access to essential wellness resources and engaging activities before the school year resumes.
The Steuben Prevention Coalition has partnered with Corning Parks & Recreation alongside several local community sponsors to host a dedicated Summer Safety Event. Scheduled for Friday, July 24, the gathering aims to equip local children and teens with the tools, safety strategies, and civic resources needed to enjoy a fun, secure summer season.
The afternoon event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 8 Civic Center Plaza. To ensure participating youth are well-nourished before the activities kick off, organizers will also be serving a complimentary lunch beforehand from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Community members planning to attend can look forward to several key highlights:
- Free Youth Meal Program: Complimentary lunches will be provided to all attendees aged 18 and under.
- Interactive Safety Demos: Local safety leaders will lead hands-on demonstrations showcasing seasonal health and wellness best practices.
- Community Giveaways & Activities: Attendees can participate in family-friendly games, educational activities, and item giveaways throughout the afternoon.
- Direct Resource Access: Organizers will be on-site to connect parents and kids with valuable local support services and recreational opportunities.
