CANANDAIGUA — Emergency crews and law enforcement officers are back on the water this morning as the active search resumes for a local man who vanished while swimming in Canandaigua Lake on Sunday evening.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported that 51-year-old Patrick J. Colacino, a resident of Canandaigua, went missing around 8:41 p.m. after leaping from a boat into the water near 4108 State Route 364. Passengers onboard the vessel stated they observed Colacino swimming nearby, but lost sight of him approximately five minutes after he entered the water.
First responders launched an immediate, multi-agency response late Sunday night, though initial recovery efforts yielded no results before the search was temporarily paused.
Key details surrounding the incident and the ongoing emergency operations include:
