Keuka College’s OT master’s program has once again been recognized as a national leader in the field.
Keuka College’s Occupational Therapy (OT) master’s program has been reaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) for a period of 10 years.
This is the maximum review cycle granted by the nationally recognized accrediting body, reserved for programs that have demonstrated “exceptional educational quality.”
Following an onsite evaluation, the accrediting body commended the program for connecting classroom instruction to community impact.
Highlighting the active involvement of OT faculty in clinical roles and support systems on campus, the report stated, “This (integration) directly contributes to stronger learning outcomes, improved well-being, and a more cohesive professional identity for emerging occupational therapists.”
The report also referred to Keuka College’s OT faculty as “assessment champions,” with a commitment to continuous data-driven improvement that sets a high bar for the entire institution.
“This is a significant milestone that recognizes and strengthens both the program and Keuka College as leaders in advancing health and well-being,” said Dr. Michele Bennett ’05 M’06, professor of Occupational Therapy and division chair for Applied Health and Wellness.
Established more than 40 years ago, Keuka College’s OT program has become one of New York state’s largest and most respected. Its distinctive dual-degree structure offers students four full years of undergraduate support and a seamless transition into an accelerated one-year master’s.
With cutting-edge practice spaces in the newly completed Center for Health Innovation, along with annual internships through the College’s hallmark Field Period® program, students gain hands-on experience at every stage.
“That means our OT graduates are prepared to navigate the complex realities of modern healthcare,” said College President Amy Storey, “And that they’re equipped with the skills, knowledge, creativity, and empathy to truly transform lives.”
Over the last five years, graduates have achieved a 95% average pass rate on national board exams, and the latest alumni survey showed 100% of respondents in full-time practice.
