The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is collecting comprehensive data from farms impacted by heavy rainfall and flash flooding that swept through the region between Tuesday and Thursday.
County and state authorities emphasize that accurate reporting from agricultural operations is critical to determining the full scope of regional economic losses. Gathering this data will form the baseline necessary to justify and support potential requests for official state and federal disaster recovery assistance.
Officials urge affected agricultural producers to take notice of the following guidance regarding the survey process:
