CAMPBELL — The Boards of Education for the Campbell-Savona Central School District and the Bradford Central School District have formally initiated a joint reorganization feasibility study to evaluate a potential district merger.
The study is being led by Schmitt Leadership Group, LLC, in partnership with GST BOCES and the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Running through early 2027, the six-to-eight-month evaluation will examine enrollment trends, academic and extracurricular programming, facilities, transportation systems, staffing contracts, and tax implications across both rural districts. A series of public community forum meetings and focus groups are scheduled throughout the fall to give parents, students, and community members opportunities to ask questions and provide direct feedback.
Key dates, project milestones, and public engagement options include:
- September 17: Facilities and Building Conditions Surveys at Bradford (5:30 p.m. student-led tour; 6:00 p.m. presentation).
- October 1: Transportation, Food Service, and Buildings/Grounds at Campbell-Savona Jr./Sr. High School (5:30 p.m. student-led tour; 6:00 p.m. presentation).
- October 8: Instructional and Extracurricular Program presentation at Savona Elementary School (6:00 p.m.).
- October 29: Financial, Budget, and Tax Review presentation at Bradford (6:00 p.m.).
- November 12: Joint Boards of Education Meeting to review preliminary findings at Campbell-Savona Jr./Sr. High School (6:00 p.m.).
- December 2026 – February 2027: Draft report review by NYSED officials, followed by a formal public presentation of the final study to both school boards in February 2027.
