Lick Brook Gorge (Ithaca, NY) – The Finger Lakes Land Trust’s Lick Brook Gorge preserve hosts a popular stretch of the Finger Lakes Trail that runs along the glacier-carved gorge.

Birdseye Hollow State Forest (Bath, NY) – Spanning more than 3,000 acres, Birdseye Hollow State Forest has seven designated primitive lakeside campsites and nearly 11 miles along the Finger Lakes Trail.

Bock-Harvey Forest Preserve (Newfield, NY) – A highlight of the Finger Lakes Trail, this wooded 48-acre preserve offers ideal options for an easy walk or connection to a much longer, more challenging hike.

Danby State Forest (Danby, NY) – Hikers looking for a quiet and secluded setting need look no further than the roughly 8-mile Abbott Loop, a branch trail in Danby State Forest.

Finger Lakes National Forest (Hector, NY) – Though a short portion of the Finger Lakes Trail crosses the southern boundary of the forest, much of the trail system is closely tied to the twelve-mile north-south oriented Interloken Trail—a branch trail along the FLT.

High Tor Wildlife Management Area (Naples, NY)  – There are over a dozen miles of hiking trails in the 3,400-acre upland portion of High Tor WMA, including the 4.8-mile High Tor Loop of the FLT.

James Kennedy State Forest (Virgil, NY) – The main Finger Lakes Trail runs along an east-west axis at James Kennedy State Forest, traversing a packed collection of named trails, which break off to both the north and south.

Morgan Hill State Forest and Labrador Hollow Unique Area (Fabius and Tully, NY) – Morgan Hill and Labrador Hollow are often referred to as one and the same, and to a certain extent it is true. They are, for the most part, contiguous parcels connected by the Finger Lakes Trail.

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill (Naples, NY) – A vast network of trails weave through the woodland and over steepened hillsides of the Bristol Valley at Gannet Hill, extending beyond the park boundaries to the Bristol Hills Trail, a spur of the FLT.
