CANANDAIGUA – Four associates recently received the Service Excellence Award from University of Rochester Medicine Thompson Health for providing outstanding service and exceeding expectations.
Recipients of the quarterly award are chosen by the health system’s Service Excellence Team, which reviews compliments from patients, families, and coworkers. Chosen were the following:
- Juli Franklin of Bloomfield, a social worker at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. Franklin was nominated by an adult child grateful for the care their father received. The nomination read, “Your attention to detail, thoroughness, competence, and kindness made a very stressful situation much more manageable. You were on top of things I hadn’t even considered, and your communication was outstanding.”
- Julia Jacobson of Fairport, a nurse practitioner at Canandaigua Urgent Care. A patient described her as “the best, most informative NP I have ever experienced” and said, “She not only listened to me, but she treated me like a human being during a stressful time. I cannot give a high enough rating to her and her team on duty that day.”
- Victoria McCloskey of Seneca Falls, a registered nurse in the ICU. McCloskey was thanked for “creating a sense of comfort, dignity, and trust.” One nomination said, “We are forever grateful for Victoria’s extended care to our family. She left us with the comfort we needed in such a difficult time.”
- Christian Reyes Pagan of Bloomfield, a patient care technician on the hospital’s 3 West medical/surgical unit. Described as “an incredible human” and “an amazing patient care tech,” Reyes Pagan brought roses and a gift to a patient on his day off just to brighten her day. “You are so special to all of us. Thank you for giving of your time and heart,” a colleague wrote.
Each recipient of the Service Excellence Award receives points to be used on Thompson’s online shopping site and is featured in CEO presentations as well as on Thompson’s intranet site and in its internal newsletter.
