From the Keuka Sun,
On May 28, 2026 the Keuka Sun published an article titled ” Seneca Falls Supervisor Cleared-to Return As Criminal Case Moves Toward Grand Jury.”
Within that article the name of former Seneca Falls Town Supervisor Michael Ferrara was mistakenly inserted due to an oversight. That mistake was not intentional and when the Keuka Sun was alerted to the error the article was immediately removed from our site and an earnest apology issued to Mr. Ferrara.
To be clear, Mr. Ferrara served the Town of Seneca Falls from 2020-2023 and served honorably. The article that was erroneously published was in reference to charges filed against Seneca Falls Town Supervisor Frank Schmitter on May 1, 2026. Those charges have been dismissed after a Grand Jury refused to indict Mr. Schmitter in June of 2026.
The mistaken article was online for 25 hours and a total of 33 unique readers accessed the article. This erroneous article was immediately and permanently deleted by the Keuka Sun upon learning of the mistake.
The Keuka Sun has taken steps to avoid this editorial oversight in the future and apologizes to Mr. Ferrara for the error.
