Seneca Falls Man Faces Up to a Year in Jail Following Child Sexual Abuse Conviction

Staff Report / October 27, 2026

SENECA FALLS — A Seneca Falls man faces up to one year in jail after a Seneca County Court jury convicted him of sexually abusing a 13-year-old child.

Bryndyn Neel, 37, was found guilty of forcible touching and second-degree sexual abuse, both misdemeanors, the Seneca County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The convictions was the result of an incident that occurred at Neel’s residence six years ago. Following the trial, Seneca County District Attorney John Nabinger commended the victim for demonstrating remarkable bravery in coming forward and remaining engaged throughout the legal process.

Sentencing has been set for December 21 before Judge Barry Porsch. In addition to potential jail time, Neel will be required to register as a New York State sex offender upon sentencing.

First Assistant District Attorney Kelly Wolford and Assistant District Attorney Katelynne Shoots prosecuted the case. Following the verdict, Wolford expressed hope that the outcome supports the victim’s ongoing healing process and empowers other survivors of sexual abuse to seek justice.

Neel is no stranger to the local criminal justice system. According to prosecutors, he previously completed a one-year sentence at the Seneca County Correctional Facility tied to a 2023 conviction for endangering the welfare of a child—an earlier case involving a different victim.
