CANANDAIGUA — A Bloomfield man has been sentenced to 23 years to life in state prison following his conviction for the repeated sexual abuse of a child under the age of 10.
Ontario County Court Judge Frederick G. Reed handed down the sentence on Thursday, November 5, 2026. According the ruling, Zachary Rogers is also required to register under the New York State Sex Offender Registration Act upon his release.
The sentence stems from offenses that occurred over an approximate three-year period, during which Rogers repeatedly abused the young victim while the child was entrusted to his care.
A joint investigation conducted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and Ontario County Child Protective Services lead to authorities arresting Rogers on March 14, 2025.
The case proceeded to an Ontario County Court jury trial lasting nine days. On July 16, 2026, the jury returned a guilty verdict on charges of attempted predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child, leading to Thursday’s maximum sentencing proceeding.
