BURDETT, N.Y. – A tractor accident in Schuyler County turned fatal Friday evening after a rollover on State Route 227.
The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were called to the scene around 6:40 p.m. following a crash involving a tractor pulling a heavily loaded trailer. Investigators say the operator lost control while navigating a curve, causing the tractor to overturn. The driver was thrown from the vehicle in the rollover.
Emergency crews transported the man by helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. The Sheriff’s Office said additional information will be shared once the family has been informed.
