Wegmans Food Markets has announced a recall of several canned fruit products after testing revealed the potential presence of lead.
The recall applies to three items sold under the Wegmans brand: canned fruit cocktail, canned halved pears, and organic sliced pears. All of the affected cans carry a best-by date of September 1, 2027.
The products were manufactured by Pacific Coast Producers, a California-based supplier. Wegmans is advising customers to stop using the recalled cans and return them to any store location for a full refund.
Company officials said no illnesses have been reported to date, but the recall was issued out of caution to protect public health.
