ORNING, N.Y. – Families will have the chance to explore the night sky this Friday, October 3, when SUNY Corning Community College (CCC) hosts its annual “Kids’ Night” at the Spencer Hill campus. The free event, open to the public, will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Digital Dome Theater and the Eileen Collins Observatory. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The evening will begin with star shows inside the Digital Dome Theater, where immersive 360-degree presentations are scheduled every half hour. Guests can also take part in hands-on activities such as arts and crafts before heading outdoors for a closer look at the cosmos.
The observatory doors will open at 7 p.m., just after sunset, giving attendees the chance to view stars, planets, and constellations through telescopes, weather permitting.
Organizers say the program is designed to spark curiosity and introduce young learners to astronomy in a fun, engaging setting.
