U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy has formally announced his support for fellow Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik in her campaign for governor, positioning her as the party’s strongest challenger to incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul. Langworthy’s district includes parts of Schuyler and Steuben counties, and his endorsement is one of the earliest major signals of support for Stefanik’s statewide run.
In a statement, Langworthy described Stefanik as a relentless advocate for upstate communities, crediting her with championing families, public safety initiatives, and conservative values. He said Stefanik has consistently pushed back against policies he believes are causing residents and businesses to leave New York. “New York deserves a fighter who never backs down,” he said, calling her “tough, fearless,” and capable of addressing what he characterizes as decades of mismanagement in Albany.
