Residents and visitors in the Bath area will have a chance to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary later this year with a special community event planned for early September.
Steuben County Historian Griffin Bates says the local celebration, called America 250, is scheduled for September 5 at Pulteney Square. The event will take place during Labor Day weekend and is intended to mark the historic milestone of America’s 250th year.
Planned activities include patriotic music, appearances by Revolutionary War reenactors, and historical displays highlighting the nation’s founding era.
Organizers say the gathering will give the community an opportunity to reflect on the country’s history while enjoying a festive and educational celebration in the heart of Bath.
