Bath NY – A routine traffic stop on Easter Sunday night escalated into a multi-arrest drug case, according to Bath Police.
Officers say the incident unfolded on West Morris Street when a vehicle was pulled over late in the evening. During the stop, police allege that one of the occupants attempted to throw a container holding methamphetamine onto the roadside in an apparent effort to dispose of evidence.
Following the attempted discard, officers conducted a more thorough search of the vehicle. Authorities report that additional quantities of suspected methamphetamine were discovered, along with drug packaging materials, a scale commonly associated with distribution, and a set of illegal chukka sticks.
Three individuals from Painted Post — Patricia Butler, Zachary Scott, and Ryan Butler — were taken into custody at the scene. Police say the trio now faces a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from the incident.
All three were transported to the Steuben County Jail for processing. After being arraigned, they were released pending further court proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
