A Penn Yan man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into alleged child exploitation, with authorities indicating that additional charges may still be forthcoming.
Police arrested a Male Age 45 after investigating reports of inappropriate conduct involving a child over a period of several months. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between September and December of 2025.
According to investigators, the man is accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a minor, as well as sending and requesting explicit images.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where multiple cell phones were seized for further examination. Officials noted that the analysis of those devices could lead to additional charges.
The individual has been charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony. He also faces misdemeanor charges including forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.
Penn Yan Police were assisted in the investigation by the New York State Police in Bath, along with child protective services agencies in both Steuben and Yates counties.
Authorities emphasized that the charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
