Join us at Hunt Country Vineyards to learn about the principles and practices of permaculture and food forest design with Patty Love. We’ll apply what we learn and get hands-on experience working with the in-progress projects at Hunt Country. Bring a sketch, survey map, or overhead photo of your own property so that you can practice designing a foodscape garden and get helpful feedback on the first draft of your personal permaculture projects.
About Patty Love
Patty is a Certified Permaculture Designer and Teacher who grew up in the Finger Lakes. She is the founder of Barefoot Edible Landscape & Permaculture, the Rochester Permaculture Center, and the Lots of Food Program (barefootpermaculture.com). With over 16 years experience, Patty practices and teaches regenerative design, permaculture, food forest gardening, suburban homesteading and social permaculture in her community and to a global audience.
What is Permaculture?
Permaculture is an interdisciplinary and holistic design approach, based in and derived from the observation of indigenous practices of nature stewardship and natural ecological systems of relationships. It strives to repair and create regenerative and reciprocal systems for meeting human needs while also enhancing the quality of life for all beings, including plants, insects, non-human animals, and fungi.
What is Food Forest Gardening?
Food Forest Gardening is a land-based application of permaculture where we use our bioregion’s natural ecosystem, a temperate forest, to steward the land. Favoring native plants, we can create tiny or large food forests that provide healthy food and habitat for ourselves, pollinators, and other critters.
