AUBURN – Cayuga County residents will soon have a multi-month opportunity to support local families in need as the United Way of Cayuga County launches its Ninth Annual Personal Care Drive. The charitable initiative officially begins this Thursday and will run through October 16.
The drive aims to collect essential personal hygiene and household cleaning products—items that are often in high demand but not always covered by public assistance programs. Once collected, the United Way will distribute the goods directly to Cayuga County residents facing financial hardship.
Key details for community members looking to contribute include:
- High-Need Items Requested: Donations sought include personal hygiene products like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, razors, shaving cream, body soap, hand soap, and deodorant.
- Essential Household & Family Supplies: The drive is also collecting laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, tissues, feminine hygiene products, as well as diapers and baby wipes.
- Convenient Drop-Off Locations: Collection boxes will be positioned at drop-off sites located throughout Cayuga County.
- Where to Find Sites: A full directory of participating donation locations is available on the United Way of Cayuga County’s official website.
