Patricia Ann Nicholas (Dillon), age 73 of Wellsville, New York, has passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 after an extended illness.
Born on September 4, 1952 in Wellsville, NY, Patti was a graduate of Wellsville High School. After a decades-long career at Worthington/Dresser Rand, Patti retired and devoted her considerable talents to her passions: family, tennis, travel and her horses. Known by all as a joyful, fun-loving woman, Patti was a beloved member of the local community. She frequently donated her time and resources to everything from teaching youth tennis to volunteering and advocating for local teen moms.
Spending much of her life as a single mother, Patti was extraordinarily proud of and involved in the lives her two daughters. She was a free-spirited, loving and incredibly devoted grandmother (or Gaga, as she was known) to her four grandchildren who range in age from 27 to 15.
Patti married John C. Nicholas on September 7, 1991, and they enjoyed 34 wonderful years together, traveling often and sharing a love of animals and the outdoors. They were both members of the Wellsville Methodist Church.
Patti is survived by her spouse, John Nicholas, her two daughters, Dylan Newton and Marleah Bouchard, and her four grandchildren: Devon Newton, Grayson Machose, Ava Newton and Nicholas Machose, her niece, Leslie Ball (Rossman) as well as her brother, Douglas Dillon and her nephews, Doug Dillon and Kevin Dillon.
She is pre-deceased by her beloved sister, Bonnie Rossman, and by her parents, Leah Dillon (Folts) and Harold Dillon.
A celebration of Patricia Nicholas’s life will be held on Sunday, September 6 from 2-4pm at her property in Wellsville, New York.
