Nearly three weeks after Tropical Storm Debby’s flooding, Steuben County officials are still assessing the full extent of road damage.
Sheriff Jim Allard reported that crews are prioritizing repairs on severely affected areas such as Norton Hollow Road in Greenwood and other roads with significant damage. “Our main focus right now is to ensure at least one lane is open for emergency services,” Sheriff Allard explained to WVIN News. “We’re working to stabilize roads like Norton Hollow so that fire trucks, ambulances, and other first responders can pass through. With winter approaching, it’s crucial to address these issues promptly to ensure access for heavy vehicles and remote areas.”
Efforts are underway to repair and reinforce these critical routes, preparing for upcoming snow and ensuring safe passage for essential services.
