Celebrate the 100th birthday of Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital with a tasty chicken barbecue on September 14. The event, held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Penn Yan Firemen’s Field, 173 Mace St, will offer a delicious meal featuring chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, a roll, and a chocolate cookie donated by Tops Market.
Meals are priced at $15 each, with additional refreshments like Red Jacket Orchards’ cider or lemonade available for $3 per bottle. Attendees can choose to drive through or enjoy their meal on-site.
In addition to the BBQ, attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets for a special centennial drawing. Tickets for the event are available in advance at Village Drug, by calling the Finger Lakes Health Foundation at (315) 787-4050, or online. They will also be available at the event until sold out.
Proceeds will support the acquisition of a new digital X-ray machine for the hospital. The organizers extend their gratitude to the Penn Yan Fire Department for their support.
