Keuka Lake Vineyards’ Annual Riesling Harvest Event on September 28 offers grape picking, wine tasting, and a festive meal.
Keuka Lake Vineyards (KLV) has announced its highly anticipated Annual Riesling Harvest Event, set to take place on September 28, 2024, from noon until the evening. The event will offer a unique, hands-on experience for attendees, combining grape harvesting with wine tasting and a festive meal.
Participants will start the day with a brief training session on grape picking, followed by 4-5 hours of harvesting grapes. While the work requires stamina, it is manageable and participants will be supported by fellow harvesters. Designated parking areas will be available for attendees.
After the grape-picking session, guests will witness the grape pressing process, the initial step in winemaking. This will be followed by a special wine tasting event, where attendees can enjoy a significant discount of one-third off most wines. The day will conclude with a harvest meal prepared by renowned Chef Chris Garlock, featuring his famous grape-fed venison bourguignon and Dorothee’s peach cake, with a vegetarian option available.
