Keuka College has recently received a significant boost to its nursing program thanks to a generous $150,000 anonymous donation. The gift, made in memory of alumna Mary Ikeda Chin ’50 and Bing L. Chin, will be used to complete key renovations to the college’s on-campus Nursing Lab.
The donation comes at a time when the nursing program is experiencing increased enrollment, with over 40 new students joining the program this fall. The funds will be used to upgrade the Primary Care/Health Assessment Suite, providing students with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for hands-on learning.
Planned improvements include the addition of new medical examination equipment, lifelike models, and expanded nursing stations. These upgrades will enhance the students’ ability to practice clinical skills and prepare for successful careers in healthcare.
Mary Ikeda Chin, a graduate of Keuka College’s nursing program, dedicated her life to serving others as a school nurse and volunteer for the American Red Cross. Her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire future generations of nursing students at Keuka College.
