Corning Community College is boosting its cybersecurity programs with a $200,000 federal grant, aiming to train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in the Southern Tier.

Corning Community College has been awarded a $200,000 federal grant to enhance its cybersecurity education and training programs. The grant, part of the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) Cyber ACCESS initiative, will help the college prepare students for in-demand cybersecurity jobs in the Southern Tier.

“This investment will create opportunities for local students and help our region meet the growing demand for cybersecurity experts,” said Congressman Nick Langworthy. The funding will support 1,500 participants, 250 trainers, and 32 businesses across 13 states.

Corning Community College President Dr. William P. Mullaney expressed excitement about the grant, saying it will “empower Corning Community College to expand our capacity to deliver cutting-edge cybersecurity education.” The initiative aims to drive economic growth and build capacity in the Appalachian region.
