A Bath man is facing multiple charges after a bizarre incident in the early hours of October 23rd.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual near the business district around 2:41 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered that a window on the door of a local business had been shattered, and the inside of the building was covered in blood.
Police quickly identified Ayden J. Decker, 26, of Bath, as the suspect. Decker was found nearby, visibly injured and bleeding. Authorities believe he broke the window, entered the business, and sustained injuries during the break-in.
Decker was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries before being arrested. He has been charged with:
- Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree: A Class E Felony
- Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree: A Class B Misdemeanor
- Exposure of a Person
Decker was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
