MWBE application process will be streamlined for all of December 2024

“Whirlwind Winter” – the NYS MWBE certification process has been streamlined, and New York State is here to help minority and women businesses complete their applications for MWBE certification with the State of New York. Starting 12/1/24 through 12/31/24, applicants will have the option of working with the Entrepreneurial Assistance Centers to complete their MWBE certification application. Program participants may receive their determination in as quickly as 90 days.
Obtaining an MWBE certification can open doors for new local/statewide contracting opportunities for minority and woman-owned businesses. There continues to be a wide range of industries needed for MWBE contracts, with construction being the #1 needed industry in the state. Each state contract is required to offer opportunities to a percentage of minority/woman-owned businesses, making this a great opportunity for businesses to get certified and land more jobs.
The ACCORD Business Center can assist with MWBE applications year-round, free of charge.
