LAKE & STREAM TESTING
Our team continuously monitored water quality at several points around the lake and in major streams that flow into the lake. Lake testing results remain stable since starting the sampling over 30
years ago. Streams are being approached with closer scrutiny, as we pay close attention to inputs from the watershed.
HABs SHORELINE MONITORING
Sixty Shoreline Volunteers helped monitor Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) from May through October in 62 locations. While all Finger Lakes experienced HAB’s this season, Keuka has had one of the lowest incidence rates at 15 DEC-confirmed events in 2024. We celebrated our volunteers with an end of season Appreciation Party at LyonSmith Brewing.
FECAL TESTING
We began testing for fecal coliform bacteria in the lake and streams in search of potential sources of contamination.
LISTEN TO THE LAKE…NAVIGATION & RECREATION
Posted flyers and signs around the lake enforcing the 5 mph within 200’ law, which helps protect people and property from speeding boats.
