A new year brings new opportunity to do things a little different. It also provides a time to clean out, reorganize and rejuvenate. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the day to day, we lose the ability to step back and reevaluate. What can I do better or what would make my life easier? I recently took on the task of updating several of my platforms for my music. Let me explain.
Every year I do a September photo shoot to secure new images for use with my Mike Lucey Acoustic brand. This is my way of starting the renewal process for the next year. I use these images over several of my platforms including my social media and website. As experience will tell you, the longer you do something, the clearer the view and the better you get.
I first started by updating my website with some new features. I added a free song download for subscribing to my email on the home page. Check it out here https://mikeluceyacoustic.com/home it’s super easy to use and you get the latest news on Mike Lucey Acoustic. I also updated the header image and made my EPK (Electronic Press Kit) more user friendly. I added both solo and duo high definition image downloads. I also updated my social media including Facebook and Instagram with new images.
Just to talk a little bit about hardware, I have been on a quest to make it easier for setup, tear down and pack out at my gigs. I recently purchased an ABS plastic carryon style pull behind case with wheels and an extendable handle. It looks cool and makes rolling it into a gig much easier. You know, it’s the little things that matter.
My latest adventure involves implementing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software. This should enable me to follow up with venues and make booking gigs a lot easier and quicker to do. It also has some great marketing functions built in. My current system of using a Word document for taking notes and storing contact information is just not cutting it anymore.
