Atwater Vineyards Shares a Vineyard Update

With the ground frozen, it is a good time for maintenance fertilizer applications. We are able to drive through the vineyards without the risk of compacting the soil which is always a concern. As part of our efforts to manage our vineyards sustainably and limit our inputs, we do extensive soil testing. Each block is checked at least every three years and only given what is necessary to maintain the proper nutrient balance for soil and vine health. Cover cropping, mulching, and compost applications also help to improve soil quality and health.
