United Way of the Southern Tier launches a star-studded online auction to benefit local programs for kids, seniors, and families.
The United Way of the Southern Tier is rolling out a major online auction this spring, offering bidders a chance at exclusive celebrity memorabilia, luxury experiences, and one-of-a-kind collectibles — all in support of vital community programs across Chemung and Steuben counties.
Headlining the auction is a hand-signed copy of Dolly Parton’s illustrated children’s book Coat of Many Colors, donated by the Dollywood Foundation. Proceeds from this item will directly benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program through the local United Way chapter.
Sports fans have plenty to get excited about as well. A signed Boston Bruins jersey from Elmira native and NHL player Johnny Beecher is up for grabs, along with a Buffalo Sabres warm-up puck autographed by Peyton Krebs. Also featured is a rare New York Giants collector’s football, signed by the entire 2024 team.
Racing enthusiasts can bid on a premium NASCAR package at Watkins Glen International, including top-tier RV parking for the 2025 race weekend and four passes to the exclusive Jack Daniel’s Club — donated by Corning Incorporated’s Community Impact and Investment division.
Other highlights include:
- Overnight stays at premier Finger Lakes hotels like the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel and Radisson Hotel Corning
- A Family Fun package with Eldridge Park passes and a Charlie’s Café gift card
- Golf outings at Elmira Country Club and Tioga Downs

The auction runs through 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, culminating at United Way’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Corning Museum of Glass. Winners attending the event can pick up their items that evening; alternate arrangements can also be made.
All proceeds will support United Way programs that serve children, older adults, and individuals in need throughout the Southern Tier.
