Yates County is set to commence significant road milling projects starting Monday, April 28, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance local transportation infrastructure. The Yates County Highway Department announced that County Route 4, also known as Ferguson Corners Road, will undergo full-length milling operations, with completion anticipated by May 1. Subsequently, beginning May 5, similar work will commence on County Route 29, or Guyanoga Road, extending through May 8.
These projects are integral to the county’s broader capital improvement plan, aiming to improve road safety and durability. The milling process involves removing the top layer of asphalt to prepare the surface for new pavement, thereby extending the roadway’s lifespan and enhancing driving conditions.
