A beloved Corning eatery is about to take the national stage as The Cellar has been selected to appear on an upcoming episode of America’s Best Restaurants Road Show. The program, which highlights standout local dining destinations across the country, will film at the Market Street establishment this July.
Owned and operated by Michael and Ellen Lanahan since 2015, The Cellar has become a cornerstone of Corning’s vibrant downtown dining scene. Known for its fusion of contemporary cuisine, local art, and a carefully curated wine list, the restaurant embodies a commitment to farm-to-table freshness and community collaboration.
“We were definitely surprised to get the call,” said Ellen Lanahan. “But it’s an exciting opportunity—not just for us, but for Corning as a whole. It really shows how small, locally owned businesses can have a big impact on our local economy.”
The Cellar’s warm, energetic atmosphere is part of its charm. “It’s lively, it can be loud—but it’s always fun,” added Michael Lanahan. “We’ve got longtime staff who bring personality and energy to every service. Watching them in action is part of what makes this place special.”
An air date for the episode has not yet been announced, but filming is scheduled to begin in July. Locals and fans of the restaurant are encouraged to keep an eye out for the crew as they capture the flavors, stories, and spirit of this Corning favorite.
