The College honored former athletes and service-minded alumni amid a weekend filled with celebration and reconnection

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Keuka College’s Green & Gold Alumni and Family Weekend, held Sept. 22-
24, brought alumni, students, families, and friends together in a celebration of all things Keuka
College.

Filled with connections, awards, athletic contests, and events, the weekend offered plenty of
homecoming spirit and excitement. It was filled with opportunities to gather with classmates and
friends, reminisce about student life, and learn all about the exciting new things happening at the
College today.

During a Saturday evening gala dinner, President Amy Storey shared some of the College’s recent
successes, including being on track to achieve a sixth consecutive year of operating budget surpluses,
recruiting one the largest classes of transfer students in history, and the College’s pledged $1.6 million
government grant in support of a public-facing community health clinic.

The gala event included the formal induction of the 2023 Class into the Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics
Hall of Fame and the College’s Alumni Association Award presentations.
“Our Hall of Fame athletes inspire us with their dedication and sportsmanship,” said President Storey.
“Our Alumni Association award recipients inspire us with their contributions to society. And they do it
in a way that should make all of us proud to call ourselves Keukonians.”
-Inducted into the Hall of Fame were:
·      Mike Meskill ’10 (Men’s Soccer)
·      Sarah Fredricks ’11 (Women’s Softball)
·      Megan McGowan ’11 (Women’s Tennis)
·      Kenny Owen (Distinguished Service)
-Recipients of the College’s Alumni Association awards were:
·      Jean Porter McMillen ’67 (Effective Use of Retirement Award)
·      Dr. Suzanne Schlicht Aquilina ’72 (Eleanor Judd Wilkes ’35 Service to Keuka College
Award)
·      Elizabeth “Libby” Stearns Faison ’73 (Community Service Award)
·      Lynne Spencer ’75 (Professional Achievement Award)
·      Ryan Murray ’18 (Graduate of the Last Decade “GOLD” Award)
·      Barbara Larsen ’80 (Spirit of Keuka College Award)

Also taking place during the weekend was the recognition of the newest class of Pathfinders, the Class
of 1973. Each Pathfinder, an alumna who graduated 50 or more years ago, received a commemorative
medallion.

The Class of 1970 was also formally recognized as Pathfinders, as the pandemic disrupted the College’s
Green & Gold celebration in 2020. While they received their medallions in the mail, members of the
class were offered the chance to be celebrated in person.
