Penn Yan’s St. Michael School Hosts Annual 5K Turkey Trot Race and Kids Fun Run on Thanksgiving Morning

Penn Yan, NY – On Thanksgiving morning, residents from Penn Yan, Keuka Lake, and the Finger Lakes region gather to support St. Michael School, celebrating a 12-year tradition. The event? St. Michael School’s annual 5K Turkey Trot Race and Kids Fun Run, an inclusive race for all ages.

This USAT&F-certified 5K race, professionally timed by Falcon Race Timing, covers 3.1 miles of flat terrain through town. Rain or shine, the race starts at 8:30 a.m., beginning at St. Michael School. Following the 5K, the Kids Fun Run kicks off around 9:30 a.m.

Participants can look forward to awards for the top overall female and male finishers, top age group competitors, and every Kids Fun Run finisher. Registration costs $25 for the 5K and just $5 for the Kids Fun Run. Register here:

For the first 100 registrants, a complimentary race T-shirt sweetens the deal. After the race, all participants can enjoy post-race food and beverages.

The annual Turkey Trot isn’t just about community and fitness; it’s also one of St. Michael School’s key fundraisers. Proceeds from the event contribute to the school’s general operating needs. St. Michael School is recognized as one of the top fundraisers among the 15 schools in the Diocese of Rochester Catholic Schools. The community’s support and dedication play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience for St. Michael School students.
