Yates County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants for Emergency Services Dispatcher

Employees in the class are responsible for monitoring, dispatching and coordinating a variety of emergency services (fire, rescue and ambulance, law enforcement, advanced life support, emergency medical, jail and court security; highway, public health and child protective services, disaster preparedness, etc.)Pay/Benefits:

  •  Starting rate of pay in 2023 – $23.67/hr, 2024 – $24.56/hr.
  • Receive annual increases PLUS Union Contract STEP increases at years 1-4, 9, 14, 19 and 24. 
  • Paid time off (Annually – 96 hours of sick + 24 hours personal + ability to earn 42 hours of compensatory time + 1 week of vacation after 6    months + 1 week of   vacation on 1 year anniversary (gradual increases to vacation time over years of continuous employment – max 4 weeks per year).
  •  Medical Insurance – shared premium with County – new hire pays 25% during first year, then 20% starting year 2 and every year thereafter. 
  • Dental/Supplemental Insurances available at employees own expense.
  • NYS Retirement

The appointment would be provisional (the person hired would need to successfully pass and score in the top three on the Civil Service exam in order to remain in the position.)
