Yates County Sheriff’s Office Announces Arrest after children endangered, property damaged

AR- Christopher Castle (30) of Lawrence Street, Penn Yan, NY

Charges- 2 counts of Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and 1 count of Unlawful Imprisonment

Narrative:

On November 12, 2023 at or about 6:11 pm Yates County Sheriffs’ Deputies responded to the report of a domestic incident in progress at a residence in the Village of Dundee.  While enroute to the scene, Deputies were advised that the suspect had fled the scene on foot after causing damage to a vehicle.  Mr. Castle was located on Hollister Street and subsequently taken into custody.  Investigation into the incident revealed that Castle is alleged to have caused damage to the porch of a residence as well as the victim’s vehicle.  This damage occurred while the victim and two children were inside the vehicle.  Castle was treated by EMS and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building and held for arraignment in Yates County CAP Court.
